Silence is symbolic. Silence can also be tactical, manifesting as a space, both physical and liminal, for the violence's posterity and continued cultural oppression.
Shooting is symbolic; the shooting of a black man is historic. Now, as the quiet heart feels, the act of shooting transcends symbols, words big and not, as well as tactical feeling. What's going on? These acts of shooting are acts of killing.
Bullets are not symbols. The word "bullet" has a singular straightforward meaning. Atrocity.
